When bloggers meet...
Saturday, October 13, 2012Last weekend I spent an afternoon in Cambridge with Sophie and Secret Blogger. I was really chuffed that my Next parker turned up in time for me to wear it. Delivery was meant to be two weeks but it arrived within two days - hurrah! - but it turned out to be such a lovely sunny day, I could have gone without it - typical.
When I ordered it, I didn't realise it had a hood (I don't like hoods) but actually this is the nicest hood I've ever met and it reminded me that sometimes you have to keep an open mind when it comes to what you like and don't like...
Anyway, it was the first time I'd met up with people I know solely through blogging and Twitter. It's a weird experience meeting others for the first time but already knowing something about them.
I had a great time - a spot of alfresco lunch followed by some browsing and rummaging in several charity shops. Cambridge has charity shops sorted, they are all in one area, only a stones throw from each other. Ipswich please take note - this is how it should be done!
Of the three of us, I had the most luck in the charity shops. I came home with a khaki tunic, an M&S Autograph stripe knitted jumper dress and an H&M fine knit jumper (full post coming soon). Sophie found a great pair of boots and SB some Christmas print fabric - I can wait to see what she's makes with it (and look out for Sophie's new 'peon' tights).
Have you been to any blogger meets? What did you get up to?
Hope you're having a great weekend.
Love

I've met quite a few bloggers now, I am especially jealous of this particular meet; three of my favourite ladies...yes please!
ReplyDeleteWhere in the world are you Laura?
Deleteglad you had a nice time! I've not met any bloggers- I work round the corner from a blogger I read, we discovered and I always think it'd be nice to meet up though I am sure I'd feel very shy!
ReplyDelete|Do you live in Ipswich? It's a lovely town, my family has a flat in Felixstowe so I always have to change train there!
I'm just outside Ipswich. It does have some really nice areas. You should explore it a little when next you swap trains. If I'm around I'll show you the good bits :)
DeleteGreat Parka, love it on you! I did once have a blogging meet up it was about a year into blogging and nice to see the ladies that had been commenting on my blog x
