The Return of This Week I Have Been...

Friday, June 10, 2011

It's back!

I shelved this for the duration of my wardrobe challenge as it raised a strong temptation to shop! The challenge is over and an 'I have been' post is long overdue.

So here goes...

This Week I have Been...

Wearing lipstick...
Not a normal occurrence for me but when Rimmel saw my Dorothy Perkins coral jeans post they suggested that I would like their Coral in Gold lipstick. So I made my merry little way to Boots were I made my purchase. This is not the sort of colour that I would ordinarily consider but I was actually quite like it.

One coat (top) gives a nice colour with two (middle) giving real wow factor. My preference is one coat blotted (bottom) for a matt finish. See for yourself (please excuse my wonky smile)... What do you think?

Wearing non-slip hair bands...
I used to think that these sort of things were a gimmick. Not so. I tried these Goody hair bands and found that, thanks to the rubber weaved throughout the band, they really do hold in place. Consider them recommended.

Smelling of Sexy Little Things...
I chose Victoria Secret Sexy Little Things Noir for two reasons;
1. the retro bottle and packaging (hello, I am an advertisers dream...)
2. on the strength of this description;

'This fruity floral fragrance combines top notes of nectarine, juicy apple, sparkling citrus, pineapple, guanabana, pear and red fruit with middle notes of cattelaya orchid, muget, cyclamen, jasmine petals, plum, vanilla, dewberry and cassis rounded out by base notes of golden amber, velvet musk, sultry woods and tonka bean'

I have no idea what a tonka bean* is but it smells delicious!Sadly, the atomiser is more of a hiss than a sophisticated spritz but I can forgive that because it's just so nice (and only OH will ever see me hiss it anyway).

Trying Burt's Bees...
You can read my full review of the Burt's Bees Essential Kit on the VBlog, but I will just say try it if you can.

Hope you're having a lovely week

* I googled it...
ton·ka bean
n.
1. A tropical South American tree (Dipteryx odorata) having pulpy, egg-shaped, one-seeded pods and fragrant seeds used as a substitute for vanilla and for flavoring tobacco and candies.
2. The seed of this tree.
