Spring Capsule Wardrobe '19
Monday, March 18, 2019Ah spring, it's almost here at last! The warm interlude in February awakened my love of bright sunny days that are warm enough to leave the house without a coat. I'm hoping that the sun will be back with us sooner rather than later.
The improving weather turned my thoughts to my spring capsule, I'm looking forward to wearing some recent purchases, mixing them with older items to create new outfit combinations. My cropped jeans are making a reappearance, and my cropped dungarees their first. And the green skirt is back now that it's been mended and is wearable once again.
I've decided to make my spring capsule monthly, just like I did in the summer. It allows me to wear more of my wardrobe, and it lets me tweak the capsule depending on the weather. Spring and autumn are always tricky to get right as the weather is difficult to predict.
This is what I'll be wearing in April.
Happy spring!

Very organised! I have been putting some things aside to sell on ebay and have my machine out repairing and altering bjt keeping my woolies out for now as feel spring is not quite sprung.
ReplyDeleteI'm not very organised, just excited to ditch coats and thick woollens and welcome the sunshine and longer days!

Wasn't that "false spring" gorgeous? It's horrid here today, I've been to town in a sheepskin hat and gloves and still felt the chill.
ReplyDeleteLoving the splashes of pink, emerald green and yellow. xxx
It was divine! It's trying to brighten up here, but rain keeps ruining it. Still, it won't be long before the warmer weather returns.

What a great idea to do a monthly capsule, Hazel! I guess it makes it a lot easier. I'm not saying that I could do it, but I certainly wouldn't be able to do one for a whole season! They say April is the cruelest month, so you've got to include a little of everything, which I think you did well. Love the addition of several springlike colour and hurray for having the green skirt back in rotation! xxx
ReplyDeleteA monthly capsule worked well last summer but I think it'll work even better for spring as the weather is unpredictable.
DeleteI love having my green skirt back, it took me a while to figure out how to mend it, and it's not the tidiest sewing ever, but it feels good to have it back.

It's felt like spring is a long way off this past week but I hope the horrible weather is now behind us. I think layers are the way to go at this time of year as you can lose a layer when it's warm or add when it's cold.
ReplyDeleteI do like a layer or two :)

Wow, that yellow jumper is bright. My eyes were immediately drawn to it.
ReplyDeleteThis time of year is so difficult to dress for. It's too warm for my winter coat but not quite warm enough for my transitional/spring jackets.
It's very bright! I'm going to have to be careful not to dazzle people. I'm going for layers at the moment, I do find the unpredictable temperatures annoying at this time of year!

I love the idea of the capsule but am not organized enough to do it myself. I like all the striped tops/sweaters you have. I have a few myself! It's still cold here in NJ (US) so still wearing a coat but the other day it was warm and springlike. It didn't last! Love your spring wardrobe! Arlene from NJ
ReplyDeleteHi Arlene! How are you? It took me a while to get my head around a capsule, but once you start it's easy enough. I find I just tweak the capsule that came before, so it evolves rather than is recreated each time. I can't wait for spring to be here in full force.
