Ten Things This Summer

Monday, June 25, 2018

Here's how, I hope, I'll be spending my summer...

1. Eating
I want to eat in a restaurant every day for seven days, be it for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner.

2. Camping
I have a day ticket for Latitude again this year, and I'll be camping at a local campsite on the Friday and Saturday night.

3. Going Coastal
Spend a day at the beach, I'm talking 9 to 5 - ice cream, fish n chips, a morning stroll on the promenade, and an afternoon nap on the beach.

4. Hosting
Afternoon tea for friends. I have the enthusiasm and a cake stand, what more do I need?

5. Reading
I want to read 12 books, hopefully more over the summer months.

6. Decorating
The bedroom has been at the planning stage for about two years now...

7. Exploring
I want to give Geocaching a go, there are a few sites locally that I'm going to seek out first.

8. Attending
Visit the local Flower Show, the one I've said I'm going to visit each and every year since we moved here seven years ago.

9. Concocting
Make lemonade from scratch.

10. Utilising
Get a book from the Library, I joined last year and have yet to take out a book.

What are your plans for the summer months? Is there something you look forward to doing every year?

  2. We plan to do a lot of relaxing - my blog is nicely ahead so I'm trying to decide if I want to move to more posts - or just take some time off!

  3. I'm already looking forward to your Latitude post - so few of my blog friends go to festivals!
Six of our summer weekends will be spent trading at festivals (although when I say weekend, we have to be there on the Wednesday and can't leave until the Monday) and another two will be spent trading in London & Manchester - so nothing other than work for me. I'm looking forward to chilling out on a remote beach on a Greek Island come mid-September! xxx

  4. I like your plans! I've honestly never done that with the beach. Always only manage a certain section of the day. Mmm, lemonade!!x

  5. Sounds like a fun list! My summer plans are surfing in Cornwall mainly but also long walks along the coast, lots of meals out (I love eating out!) picnics and BBQs on the beach and maybe a spot of crochet.

  6. From your list, the only thing I've managed is the eating part, as we ate out on most days while on holiday. That is, if you count afternoon tea ;-) We were firmly landlocked this year, so going coastal will only happen in September, when we'll be at the Belgian coast! xxx

    1. Afternoon Tea totally counts! I'll look forward to seeing the Belgian Coast in your posts, I've only ever see Belgium inland.

  7. A great list :) I quite like the idea of making up a seasonal to do list - I think having a list (and sharing it) would be a good motivating factor in actually doing things to have the pleasure of ticking them off!

    1. It does motivate me, and it helps me to look forward to the coming season. This applies more in the winter when it's seems like there are months of cold and grey on the horizon.
I rarely do everything on these lists but they do serve as a reminder to get out there and do fun stuff!
