Summer '16
Thursday, June 23, 2016With spring behind us I'm hoping for less rain, more sun, and some warm weathered adventures.
Here's my list of ten things to do in summer '16.
1. Visit three different beaches in Suffolk - Felixstowe, Aldeburgh, Southwold
2. Try three new ice cream flavours
3. Go on a picnic
4. Visit a maize maze - Kezzie the Southwold maze opens on July 16th :)
5. Take a trip to Snape Maltings and Marlsford Mill.
6. Forage for and make elderflower cordial / gin (failing that, elderberry gin)
7. Go to an outdoor movie
8. Pick strawberries / raspberries and eat sun warmed berries whilst still in the field
9. Decorate until my arms fall off
10. Read 5 books - preferably whilst lounging in my hammock in the sunshine.
What do you have planned for the summer months?

I might adopt your goal of trying three new ice cream flavours! x
ReplyDeleteyeah, it's a tough one... ;)
DeleteThese sound like absolutely idyllic summer goals! This will be the first summer in 12 years that I'm not a teacher and hence don't have weeks off to look forward to (although as I used to spend most of that time working and/or stressing, I'm less upset that I could be!)
ReplyDeleteI know some of the teachers I know see the summer holiday as bitter sweet. At least you can take a holiday when you want to now, and you're doing something you enjoy a lot more.
DeleteYes, yes, yes!!!! Realistically, mid-August would be the best time for me!!!!x
ReplyDeleteFine by me. Look at some possible dates and email me, I can do weekdays :)
DeleteLooks like you are going to have an amazing summer. I hope you tick everything off your list.
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed :)
DeleteSuch great goals. I'm going to make myself a list so that I don't get to the end of the summer and wonder where it went.
ReplyDeleteI don't always tick everything off but writing a list does push me in the right direction :)
DeleteThe maze one is a brilliant idea - I haven't been to a maze since I was a kid and they're so much fun! I'll have to make sure I try and do something similar while the weather stays sunny. Great list here Hazel, I love the outdoor film and hunting for elderflower berries for cordial too. - Tasha
ReplyDeleteI just hope we get some dry weather, today had so much promise but it's now ripping it down!
DeleteHammock + books + sun = heaven. Any ideas for your reading list (just nosy and in need of some book recommendations haha!)

I have pile in my bedside table. I have some more in the No.1 Ladies Detective Agency series to read, A Year of Living Danishly, and Time Keeper by Mitch Albom.
DeleteI love your summer to do list. I think I amy have to make my own. I haven't picked strawberries for years, perhaps that will be on my list too.
ReplyDeleteI'll never forget my brother filling the pockets of his tracksuit trousers with strawberries, by the time we'd driven home he basically just had pockets full of jam!
DeleteThose sound like wonderfully summery goals and - weather permitting - pretty achievable.
ReplyDeleteIts our busiest time of year with back to back festivals for the next couple of months, I'll be hard pressed to do much more than read one book! xxx
Thank you for taking the time to comment x
