Lately

In stark comparison to a few weeks ago I've been feeling really upbeat this week. I don't know what shifted my feeling of melancholy, I'm just glad it's gone.

I knitted myself a hat. And even though I'm going to frog it and start all over again (I noticed a mistake about six rows in and just can't live with it) I'm going to enjoy knitting it again. Thick wool and 10mm needles means that it'll take no time at all! Then I'm going to make a big pom pom to stick on top. Everything is improved with a pom pom - the bigger the better!

The past few weeks have been lovely, I started the week with a fresh new notebook, and found a new berry lip for winter.

I finished a book I really enjoyed reading and started Alice In Wonderland (my first time of reading), and I'm loving it.

Andy and I took a trip to W&M Smiths and bought some decorations for our Christmas cake and some oasis to make wreaths. I used the same decorations as last year and used holly that Andy collected for me from around and about the farm.

I decorated our Christmas Tree, it took hours and two cups of tea. But it's a beaut.

I felted some snowmen, I'm now making them to order for my friends after posting a picture on Facebook.

Sent off a gift swap parcel, and received one in return.

I bought a 'to my husband' Christmas card for the first time and when I read the words inside it made me cry good tears, right there in the middle of the shop.

Spent some time with my family, had a good and productive week at work, and finally got my hands on a teeny tiny bottle to hold my Sahara sand.

Everything feels positive and exciting again, even though I'm not at all prepared for Christmas!

What have you been up to recently?

  2. I love your wreath! I didn't have time to make one this year, it's the first year for ages I've had to go without.

    1. Frogged - ripping it back to a ball of wool. The sound of 'rip it, rip it' sounds like a frog. I've knitted it again already and I'm much happier with it, just the pom pom to do now :)
