Photo An Hour | Oct '18

Friday, November 09, 2018

The morning of October 27th went by in a flash and I hadn't realised that it was Photo An Hour until lunchtime. I'd spent the morning pottering, doing housework and bits and bobs so the photos wouldn't have been very exciting anyway.

1pm
I sat down for a pre Afternoon Tea snack. Knowing I was going to be eating lots of delicious sweet treats later on I went for a healthy option.

2pm
Pom poms in the making. It's the perfect thing to do when you've got an hour to spare.

3pm
Pom pom dust! I don't mind the fallout from pom pom making, at least it's pretty.

4pm
Afternoon tea. We went to Seckford Hall in Woodbridge, Suffolk. I can highly recommend it, the food is delicious, the service is good yet unobtrusive, and the location and venue are stunning.

5pm
It doesn't take long to demolish the dainty sandwiches and little sweet treats. I was the only one to eat all it, I'm not sure I should be proud of that fact for not...?

6pm
Home to tea by the fire (because I hadn’t drunk nearly enough tea that afternoon!). I got the fire going and sat with a satisfyingly full belly.

7pm
Neither cat was in the least bit interested Strictly Come Dancing, but it's become our Saturday night viewing.

8pm
Tink left her fireside spot to sit on my lap and then got annoyed when Socks nicked her spot by the fire!

By 9pm I was in bed with a book.

Thanks to Jane and Louisa for hosting #PhotoAnHour.

  1. Yum, that afternoon tea looks very tasty. I hardly knew any of this year's Strictly line up when it was announced so I wasn't sure I was going to enjoy this series but I'm loving it. Stacey and Joe are my favourites, there's some other great dancers but these two haven't done any dancing or been in the entertainment business in the past and you can see how they've improved throughout the series, it's what the programme is all about in my opinion.

    1. It was delicious!
I was the same, most people I had to Google in the SCD line up. I agree that Stacey and Joe are the most genuine contestants, and I do like Faye although she would've had some dance training in Steps. I'll be cross if Ashley wins, I don't know how they can justify her being in the competition given that she's studied modern dance. I think Stacey might win it.

  2. That afternoon tea looks utterly delicious! Did you know we have our own version of Strictly in Belgium now? I do not watch it avidly, but keep watching if I accidentally tune in. It's quite addictive! xxx

    1. It was lovely!
I didn't know you had your own version. It is addictive. We've watched it for year, I like it as it coincides with the end of harvest, so when SCD starts I know I'll be seeing more of Andy

  3. Look at your kitty cats! They do love to destroy pompoms, don't they?
You made smart work of that afternoon tea!
I've never seen Strictly come Dancing, ever. Am I weird for not liking dancing? probably! x

    1. So far they haven't touched a pom pom. They like to try and bite the wool as I'm winding. Sometimes as I'm winding I find a wet bit that they've chewed. Grim.
We don't all like the same things. I don't like premier league football, or formula one - things other people seem to go nuts for.

  4. I've been watching Strictly this time but I, like you, didn't really know who most of them were/are!!! I like the older man, the actor Danny John Jules who played Cat in Red Dwarf- he's really good and he's older which I always like!

    1. I thought Danny John Jules was going to be really good. I like it when the older contestants show up the younger ones. It's a shame he went home this week, he was fun.
