Monday Inspiration : Lauren Conrad
Tuesday, November 06, 2012Monday Inspiration was Lauren Conrad wearing a fabulous slouchy jumper and boots. Perfect transitional dressing! I had no excuse to go shopping for this week's inspiration as it was the perfect opportunity to wear the oversized M&S sweater I found on my recent blogger meet up!
Accesorised with my poppy and a huge scarf. See the other inspirations here. |
The two other items I found on that particular charity shop rummage.
One is more of a summer dress - khaki, with pockets (pockets!!) and a gathered hem (I'm not saying bubble hem on account of the fact that I'm not 7). It looks pretty boring pictured here. It's one of those items that is transformed when you put it on. I'm really looking forward to styling it, I think I'll Autumn-it-up with a few layers so I can wear it now.
The H&M tunic didn't fit in the end, which is a shame as I loved the lavender/blue colour. Since I started organising clothes swaps I find it easier to buy items that I'm not sure about - if they turn out to be unsuitable they go into the next clothes swap. It's rather liberating and saves me the time I'd otherwise spend suspended in indecision.
A few weeks later I went on another charity shop jolly. This time I found a chambray tunic from Gap, a pink tunic dress, a Principles top and a pair of leather boots. I got the lot for £12.50
I've already worn the Gap tunic, which I think will work equally well in the summer months paired simply with sandals. The pink dress was what I had intended to wear for Wear It Pink, but forgot. The Principles top is a beauty, it's sheer sparkly fabric is a joy to behold and the colours are divine. And then we come to the boots. The beautiful leather boots. Much nicer than the pair of long, mid brown, heeled, boots that I had and a fraction of the price. Never say never to second hand footwear.
Having written about all of this I'm itching to go charity shopping again, who knew it could be so addictive?
Love

ReplyDeleteHey, we're dress buddies - we'll have to plan to wear it on the same day and see how differently we style it!
