Only Once August - A new challenge...

Sunday, July 29, 2012

I've decided that August is to be frugal, meaning only essential shopping is allowed (food, that sort of thing). I took part in Frugal February back in, erm, February and found it to be a really positive exercise.

To take my mind off the fact that clothes shopping can't possibly be seen as essential spending, no matter what angle you look at it from, I'm going to be shopping my wardrobe.

Can I really go a whole month without adding another scarf to my collection?

Can you sense a challenge coming on? To make it a little more interesting I'm only going to wear items once, a mini Wearing It All challenge, focusing on the less frequently worn items in my wardrobe and starting with the never-been-worn.

I'll try to do a weekly round up post every Wednesday.

Do you fancy joining me? If you do leave me a comment below and if you don't leave me a comment anyway ;o)

  1. This is a great idea! I am trying to be frugal for August too, not just with the shopping but generally living more cheaply day to day. I throw my money away! We can do it =) can't wait to catch up with your 'wear it all' posts too!

    1. Yay! It'll be easier with some mutual encouragement. I've bought so many clothes recently that I had to take drastic action! Most of them are pre loved items but even so, there just aren't enough days in the year to wear it all!
Good luck and thanks for joining in :)

    1. Why not try it for the first week and see how you get on? There's no punishment if you don't do the whole month ;)

  4. I really should be on another no-spend challenge too, but everytime I do one, I get worse! I will try, no promises though! x

  5. Our frugal month is to be September. No unwarranted spending at all that month (I hope).

    Good luck.

  7. Just wanted to say how much I have enjoyed this challenge. I also did Frugal February and have kept up with much thriftiness since. Kind of fun whilst keeping the old grey matter working aswell.
