Photo An Hour | Sept '19

September 21st was a busy day for me, once it got underway.

8am I really should've been getting up but I was being held hostage by this sleeping feline... (any excuse to stay in bed a little longer).

9am First cuppa of the day in the garden, still in my PJs. This has become my habit, when the weather allows, the first cuppa of the day is sipped in peace and stillness. For the rest of the day tea is consumed whilst I'm concentrating on other things.

10am Things were about to get loud and dusty. And, I hoped, really, really smooth. This was a DIY project I've been meaning to do for an age. It's still not quite finished but it's so close to being finished...

11am Teabreak. I pondered having a something a little eleven o’clockish to eat. Tunnocks teacakes were suggested and I immediately added a pack to my grocery order, I haven't had one in years!

Noon. In the thick of it. This is the second stage, after the sanding, just a primer, aka the boring bit.

1pm Lunch perfection sitting in the warmth of the sun. You've gotta love a dippy egg. I enjoyed it so much I had them the next day too.

2pm More tea. Luckily I realised I needed a strainer before I added the water!

3pm Do you ever lose an hour just pottering? I’d been tidying up, wandering from one room to another, putting things back where they belong, emptying bins, rearranging drawers, and suddenly an hour had gone by...

4pm It was time to paint. It’s yellow! Annoyingly it needed 12 hours between coats, and required three coats in the end, so it took a while. I'll show you the finished piece in a post soon.

5pm An early supper. These are ingredients obviously, not the whole meal.

6pm Shower required in order to be free of dust and paint splatters.

7pm Chillin’. I had a bit of time before...

8pm ... going out out. I didn't feel like I had the energy to go and very nearly didn't, but I was very glad I did. I hadn't seen these guys in ages, it was so good to catch up!

10pm Munchies. Yep.

11pm Still out, this is very unusual for me, but I was at home and in bed before the hour was up and midnight rolled around.

I hope you had a lovely weekend. Thanks to Jane and Louisa for hosting #PhotoAnHour.

  1. A busy day. Oh yum, I do love a dippy egg but don't have them very often, I think I shall have to remedy that.

  2. Sunshine, cats and a night in the pub - sounds good to me! I must be doing something wrong, our cats make me get up at the crack of dawn, no lying-in in this house no matter how hard I try! xxx

    1. Most days my cats wake me early, they must've had a very active night to let me stay in bed for that long!
