7am I had tea brought to me in bed. Husband was off to work. I read for a while before starting my day.
8am
Every morning when I go to water the greenhouse Socks the boy cat has to do a quick taste test.
9am
En route (I'd pulled over obvs). I was off to collect my Dad for a trip to the seaside, primarily to visit The Suffolk Craft Society Exhibition that we go to every year.
10am Arrived at our destination, Aldeburgh.
11am Elevenses. We'd wandered around two exhibitions and an art gallery, and felt the need for refreshments. I spied a tearoom and within minutes we were seated and choosing from a large selection of cakes. Moments after I posted this on Instagram our cakes arrived.
Mine? A spiced date, carrot and coconut cake. Dad opted for a scone with jam and cream.
12pm
Beach messages. There was table full of stones, with instructions to pondering the meaning of existence and write your thoughts on a stone. We spent a while reading them.
We had a stroll along the beach...
... and stopped in to see another an art exhibition, this time in a church, making excellent use of the pews.
1pm No photo as I'd dropped my Dad off and was driving to an out of town Boots store, on my way home. Annoyingly they didn't have what I needed in stock. I took the opportunity to nip into a large St Elizabeth Hospice shop nearby. It took ages to wander around the one way system behind a painfully slow lady who inspected almost every. single. garment. I did find a rather lovely dress though...
2pm
A quick pit stop on my way home. Hula Hoops! It's ages since I had a packet of these, unlike almost everything else, they seem bigger than I remember.
3pm I forgot to take a photo as I'd arrived home, was excited to try on my new dress, was making a fuss of the cats, making myself a cuppa, and thinking about eating a little more food, something a tad healthier than Hula Hoops (an apple and some yogurt).
4pm My plan was to attend to the housework but the garden sunshine beckoned. I took a new read outside with me but I didn't crack the cover, instead I sat pondering the garden tasks that needed doing, and trying to decide what shrubs to plant around the patio. There was probably a fair chunk of daydreaming going on too.
5pm I forgot to make another cuppa before I sat down, and was trapped under Tinker the girl cat.
6pm Snoozing (so no photo). What else can you do when the TV offers nothing of interest and the cat looks too cute to move?
7pm Still here. Not long after I had to disturb the cat (she was non too pleased) to make supper as my stomach grumblings had grown too loud to ignore. I made meatballs in spicy bean stew with pasta.
And here is where my photos of the day end. I was shattered, not because I'd had a particularly busy day, but because sleep has been evading me lately. I took myself off to bed just after 8pm, I read for a while and managed to get some decent kip. I have no idea what time Andy got home, but it was after 9:30pm - the last time I looked at my clock.
I hope you had a lovely weekend, and have some exciting plans for this one. It's my birthday tomorrow so I've invited some family members over for a socially distanced BBQ. Andy and I will have our traditional cooked birthday breakfast, only this year we're having it at home (Andy's cooking).
I hope you're well, and I promise to catch up with my blog reading soon!
Thanks, as always, to Jane and Louisa for hosting #PhotoAnHour.
