Love Label Love

You may or may not know that I am a VBlogger for very.co.uk which means I frequent the website daily. This also means I notice the new season collections as soon as they arrive and Spring has sprung!

Love Label has been a favourite of mine for some time but this coming season has to be the best yet! So, I'm going to share what I think are some of the best pieces and let you decide the rest for yourself...

I'd love to hear what you think!

My Stylist Pick

A few posts ago I mentioned StylistPick.com. It goes without saying that I have already succumb to their charms and ordered myself a lovely pair of boots...

I was soaking in a hot bubble bath when the courier knocked on my door. For a split second I was tempted to ignore it but the lure of new boots was just too much.

Now, no one should ever under estimate the power of packaging. Inside the cardboard box lay a sleek, black, branded bag. This held the shoebox, also black and sleek and tied with a gorgeous bow, with a tag thanking me and hoping that I enjoyed my purchase.

I loved these touches, they made me feel like I was being thoroughly spoilt. I was having fun and I hadn't even got to my purchase, it really was a case of 'good things come to those who wait'.

Tucked inside the box was a gift - a bottle of Maybelline Express Finish nail polish wrapped in a cute organza bag (my feet really were in for a treat!) - which was just enough to make me fall in love with the lovely people at Stylist Pick.

Then I came to my purchase… the boots. It was love at first sight.

I then went ahead and performed my usual new purchase ritual. I wore them around the house, teamed stylishly with my bath robe. I'd quite forgotten about my bubble bath altogether...

So, I leave you a little bit in love with StylistPick.com, go introduce yourself.

Particular Pieces - in no particular order...

I'm feeling all of a dither. A mixture of festive cheer and summer excitement! I can't seem to decide which one to focus on, so I'm jumping like a deranged bunny from one to the other. Christmas, Summer, Summer, Christmas...

Something to add a little festive sparkle

Shorts. At this time of year?
But... they are pretty and just the right amount of slouchy. Get them here.

But today, I'm feeling the need for warmth.
They are possibly the only Uggs I would consider wearing (I think it's the pom pom that does it!)
A dress. Pretty, versatile and by Fearne Cotton for Very.co.uk, good - no, great - for all seasons.

And all of these lovely pieces from the Matalan SS11 collection.

And this, quite simply a joy to behold...
Naiya Ball Necklace, Astley Clarke

Before I pop with excitement may I wish you 9 happy sleeps until Christmas morning.

This week I have been...

Catching up on my reading...

I found Jen from Minneapolis and and her bitsoftruth
'Blog objective: To show you we've all been there. To encourage you to keep going. To prove love exists. To get you through the day. To remind you to be strong. To celebrate you. To fight right along with you. And to remind you to be happy & live life!'

Here I found this... which I love.

My favourite quote has always been -

Of which I was reminded recently by the wild and wily ways of a brunette bombshell in a strange, rambling sort of post...

I love her blog, her words soothe while you are enveloped in her world. There is not a capital letter in sight, I found this disconcerting at first but now it feels like a friend.

Go and say 'hello'... the wild and wily ways of a brunette bombshell

Particular Pieces - Christmas Decorations

I have a small collection of Christmas decorations, namely a 3ft tree, some lights that sit on my window sill and enough decorations to assemble a festive looking tree - although the star never sits upright. As I spent a lot of years at other people's houses on Christmas Day I didn't feel the need for more than a few token decorations. However, OH is big on Christmas so I need to make more of an effort as we moved in together this year (he continues to shake his head in disbelief at my artificial Christmas tree - real is where it's at, or so I am told).

But where to start? I'm a little lost with room decorations... the thought of tinsel, baubles and anything shines or dangles leaves me cold. Twinkling lights and yule logs are more my cup of tea.

In my quest for something tasteful my first stop was MyDeco for inspiration - a site with everything 'interior' in one place. Here is what I found...

Wreath £30 from Notonthehighstreet

Pine Cone Garland £17.50 from Idyll Home

Ceramic Santa £7.50 M&S

Giant Antiqued Silver Baubles from £9.50 from Graham and Green

Lavendar Heart £12.00 from My Deco Boutique

Painted Wooden Deer Advent Calender £10.17 from Graham and Green

Okay, so at this juncture I should point out that I am starting to enjoy myself, despite my normal 'bah! humbug!' approach to decorations (well it IS shopping after all). It seems I have a penchant for rustic items and pine cones - a far cry from the tinsel and gaudy hanging ceiling decorations of my childhood. I suspect that our home will have a rosy glow this festive season.

Whilst catching up on my blog reading this week I also found inspiration in these blogs louboosandshoes  - velvet ribbon and holly to decorate your door knob anyone? and thebottomoftheironingbasket I could climb in and spend Christmas there.
And it is with a festive feeling in my belly that I leave you.

being in love at Christmas time makes it so much better x

This week I have been...

Wearing Avon Luxe Lace SuperShock Gel Eyeliner Pencil.
I ordered this after reading a review on A Model Recommends. I have been an Avon customer for years but had become stuck in my ways where their products were concerned. It was about time I tried something new. This is as good as I'd hoped and if I'm honest, I've used it more than I thought I would. It goes on easily, stays put and is fabulously black-black in colour. Currently at £3.00 it is perfect!
Joining Stylist Pick
An ingenious idea for shoe lovers brought to my attention by (if memory serves me correctly) Look magazine. The idea behind Stylist Pick is simple. You fill out a style profile and each month six stylists send you six pairs of shoes or boots to choose from each costing £39.95. You can buy one or all of the selection and skip a month if you need to.

My first stylist pick's - decisions, decisions...

Feeling a little green...
I was glad to see a review of reusable cotton pads on Good Planets Are Hard To Find this week from Love The Planet. They come recommended by a fellow blogger and at £6.20 for a pack of five they'll soon pay for themselves. Go on... give them a try.

Wearing my Kurt Geiger pick...
You may or may not know that I recently wrote a post about my love of Kurt Geiger footwear and my top three styles. Well, the result was the purchase of these Carvela Sparrow boots. OK, so no one voted for these boots but in my defence I have alot of black boots already and I felt that I don't wear court shoes enough to warrant buying either of the other two pairs. Although I have to admit that if funds allowed I would buy all three!

I love these boots and wore them most days (before the snow). They look equally great poking out of the bottom of a pair of bootcut jeans or on show worn with rolled up skinny jeans. I haven't tried it yet but I'm certain they would look fab with a dress too. Shoe love - you just can't beat it.

Lusting after...
This Hedkandi Thick Diamante Cuff and Heart Cross Body Bag from the new collection available at Very

Until next week...

Particular Pieces - Feathers

Autumn always brings with it sumptuous, rich fabrics, leather, velvet, tweed and, this year, feathers, to see us through to the Springtime in style.

Having seen this feather fur gillet on Forty Not Out I realised how many beautifully feathered items I have admired over the past few months. There is something truly decadent about feathers, probably hailing from the days when the more embellishments you adorned yourself with the more wealthy you were perceived to be.

Feathers mix with tweed effortlessly during the day - think trilbys and brooches on jackets - and with chunky statement jewels in the evening.

Here are a few of my favourite feathers...

ASOS Grey feather clutch £26.00

Dorothy Perkins Feather corsage bracelet £12.50

Accessorize feather fan £5.00

Monsoon Florrie Dress £175.00

And finally a joy to behold...
Kurt Geiger Scene Feather boots £390.00

Much love
