The return of Bloggers Do It Better. The theme is B&W Stripes - the idea was go big or go home. I found the-most-fabulous maxi dress on eBay - perfect for this challenge and a mass of bold stripes in all directions. The end of the auction drew near and I was ready to make it mine. And then my Mum phoned. Game over.


So I was left with no choice but to wear this. A sorry excuse for 'going big', but there you go. I'll know next time I'm bidding to ignore the call and focus on the matter in hand.

I'm off to London today, attending three press events for The Modern Girl's Guide. It's lovely to have an insight into the lives of real fashion bloggers!

Oxblood was the theme for Bloggers Do It Better this time around, I was hugely surprised to find that I had not one item in my wardrobe in this colour. I love dark red, it suits me so much more than bright red and goes so well with black or navy. It looks fab with neutrals and also surprisingly well with neon yellow.

I decided to go shopping and treat myself, what better pick-me-up is there after being ill? A jumper and a scarf later and I remembered about a pair of dark red platform loafers that reside in a dust covered box at the bottom of my wardrobe. Ooops.

My purchases and the loafers. How could I forget about these? Shame on me.

Bloggers Do It Better is back and this time the theme is coral and mint, which gives me the perfect excuse to wear these coral jeans for a second time this week (there you go Sherin, you said I should wear them more often)...

What colours are you wearing together?

After a recent Everybody, Everywear sequins and sparkles challenge I decide I wanted a bit more sparkle in my wardrobe. I picked up this top in the New Look sale before Christmas for only £7.00. So when the Bloggers Do It Better challenge turned out to be sequins, I knew exactly what I would be wearing.

I also found a skirt on eBay, which is a stunning colour but also A-line and mid calf - not flattering, so I plan to alter it but more on that in another post.

I love layering at the moment and think this top works really well worn with a jumper over the top, the sequins just poking out beneath. It's an easy way to wear sequins during the day.

I have been really looking forward to this Bloggers Do It Better challenge, I actually sat down last night and planned my bangles for today like an over excited six year old! It was half an hour of pure escapism.


As for my outfit today, it's pretty simple - wide leg jeans (keep) and grey t-shirt (keep) and clogs. The clutch bag that you are currently admiring is from Shop Street Style (the shop closed for the moment :O( but check out Fashion Pearls of Wisdom for updates - and because it's a good read. May I also mention Pearl has an eBay sale going on at the moment with some great vintage finds)

To further aid my Wearing It All challenge I decide to sort out anything in my wardrobe that needed mending or altering. This was the outcome… now, which box is my thimble in?
