March 20th, Photo An Hour day. I woke up with a plan of having a ‘doing day’, a day of getting stuff done but with no particular plan. I’d hoped the weather would be nice so I could get out into the garden and I’m very pleased to say that it obliged. I had housework to do (it’s never ending isn’t it) but I always find it easy to push housework to the bottom of the to-do list, fitting it in around other more enjoyable things.
6am. Normal daily routine was underway. Kettle on, washing in the machine, with Socks trying to eat his food before it was all out of the packet.
7am. Spent a lovely hour with the husband before he went off to work. Wanted to make the bed but…
8am. Washing was on the line. Time for some yoga.
9am. Princess and the Pea? Another bed that wasn't made for a while...
10am. Post Office trip. I saved up a bundle of parcels to keep trips to a minimum.
11am. Yeah, I had all the good jobs to do. My car boot was full, this was the first trip to the bottle bank since March last year!
12pm. So I got home from recycling the glass, kicked my shoes off, clicked the kettle on, and saw the letters I'd intended to post that morning...
1pm. I usually have lunch a bit earlier but I didn’t know if Husband was coming home or not. He turned up as I was half way through the bowl. I had a strong suspicion that the soup and apple would be followed by a heavily buttered hot cross bun. I was right.
2pm. Time for some greenhouse pottering.
3pm. Repotted.
4pm. Tea and frogging an ancient knitting project, made more challenging by the fact that it was knitted with the wool doubled up, it kept getting tangled and I gave up. I won’t be defeated though, I intend to engage the services of my Mother to roll one ball as I roll the other, surely that will be easier?
At this point I stopped taking photos, at 5pm I was collecting wood for the fire from the shed, and all that followed was cooking our evening meal and the watching of a few more episodes of The West Wing, before a soak in the bath and reading in bed.
Thanks to Louisa for hosting.
